This spring Art Together partnered with Inova Loudoun Nursing & Rehabilitation Center to apply for a grant from the Dementia Society of America to help underwrite art enrichment programming for its nursing home residents. We were awarded a $1,000 grant which was a dream come true for us as we strive to find ways to fund our creative enrichment programs for our local seniors who are so eager to paint.
In celebration and with abundant gratitude, our summer art program culminated with a Summer in the Arts Exhibit, Demo and Artist Reception on Sept. 20, 2019. We also honored a few special guests who have made our joy possible with their support: Mabel Costello, Director of Activities, Connie Gier and Sharon Connor for underwriting one art scholarship monthly for two years, and Alicia Holz for her time and loving dedication as a monthly volunteer painting companion. A special thank you to Jerry’s Flowers and Gifts of Leesburg for donating bouquets of flowers as gifts for our resident artists and honorees. We had such a wonderful time together celebrating the gift of the arts in our lives, and can’t wait til we get to do it again!
